Mount Rinjani (3726 m) is the third highest mountain in Indonesia after the Carstensz Pyramid (4885 m) in Papua and Mount Kerinci (3805 m) in Sumatera. Rinjani is an active Volcano with a big caldera. The caldera of Mount Rinjani is filled by a lake known as Segara Anak (child of the sea) and by a baby volcano called Mount Barujari (2363 m).
Located in Lombok, West Nusa-Tenggara province of Indonesia, Mount Rinjani has become a favorite trekking or hiking destination for domestic and international travelers. Rinjani Mountain trekking can be arranged via Sembalun village on the eastern side or via Senaru village on the northern part of the mountain.
